Jul 11, 2018

This is Geroy’s fourth season as a member of the Lions’ football operations staff after an incredible and historic 15-year CFL playing career. In addition to his primary role of evaluating Canadian-born university players for the annual CFL Draft, Geroy’s duties also include scouting current Canadian players in the CFL to help the club identify key free agent candidates. Given his remarkable BC Lions career, he also serves as a mentor to current players and is a valued ambassador for the club.

The Johnstown, Pennsylvania native spent 12 incredible seasons as a Lion establishing franchise marks for receptions (904), receiving yards (14,756) and touchdowns (93). A six-time CFL All-Star and seven-time West Division All-Star, Geroy was the league’s Most Outstanding Player in 2006 after posting career-highs in both receptions (105) and yards (1,856).

A two-time Grey Cup champion with the Lions, Geroy wrapped-up his time with the club in 2012 and played one season with the Saskatchewan Roughriders collecting another CFL championship in 2013. After a year spent in the Saskatchewan front office, Geroy rejoined the Lions in February 2015.

In total, the University of Maryland grad played 237 regular season games for Winnipeg, BC and Saskatchewan recording 1,029 receptions for an all-time CFL mark of 16,352 yards to go along with 103 touchdowns. His amazing career also included 18 playoff games and four trips to the Grey Cup. Geroy was inducted into both the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and the BC Sports Hall of Fame in 2017.

Geroy and his children live in Cloverdale, BC. His eldest son, Gervon is a graduate of the US Military Academy and also played football for the Army Black Knights.
