The Quiet Warrior Show

Oct 15, 2019

Valerie Bérubé is a retired Marine Corps lieutenant colonel with 30 years of combined active duty and reserve service with deployments to Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan.  In civilian life, she noticed that most young people are not offered leadership and personal development training like the military provides for their junior talent.  She sought to make a difference and authored a two volume book series called "Polish Your Star - Three Minute Daily Lessons to Become an Extraordinary Leader" targeted toward junior leaders.  The books deliver a seven-step process beginning with building a foundation for a creating a personal vision, emotional intelligence, communication, and rational thinking, then moving on to fundamental leadership principles such as getting things done, empowering others, modeling good behavior, and stretching oneself to improve.  The books may be read by individuals seeking to better themselves, or can be used by leaders of small teams to give "hip pocket classes" daily or as time permits.  Valerie lives in Phoenix, Arizona with her husband, Brian, and their golden retriever.
